Actually catnip does not affect young kittens in the way it affects adult cats. Most kittens actually avoid it until they're older. As far as health is concerned I've asked many vets this question and they've all told me catnip has no lasting negative effects. That being said I have seen many a cat get stoned on it and bonk their heads on a wall or fall over, amusing yes, but I suppose it has the potential to cause a harmful accident.

My cat started smoking catnip when he was one. At the age of 2 he knocked up his girlfriend and the kittens were born with six paws and two tails. They were so cute!!!!!!!! Now at age 4 he is shooting up heroin and smoking crack. Last week, he knocked over a liquor store to help support his habit.
...............Seriously, I believe that catnip is fine for cats. Some go nuts for it; others - it has no effect. I have noticed that more
males tend to like the catnip.

i wouldn't give it to a real young kitten. probably not much before it is 1 yr. old.there's something else u should b aware of. some cats,mine for example, was 4 yrs old before he was even remotely intrerested in catnip and he's not all that interested in it now.

No catnip for kittens.....they are playful enough, they don't need it. I've been told it is not healthy for kittens.

YES CATNIP IS AN HARB FOR THEM IT WILL MAKE THEM MORE PLAYFUL BELIEVE ME I GIVE MY CAT CATNIP AND SHES 12 YEARS OLD DONT WORRY SHE WILL BE JUST GIVE IT TO HER ONCE IN AWHILE KITTENS ARE NORMALLY PLAYFUL.

catnip is fine, its just a plant that grows outside, just don't give it too much.

Nah..but I think she'll want to get a litlle bit older to have some interest. Some cats love it & some could care less.
