hey i am writing an english persuasive essay on how i can convince parents and students that homework is a need in school
ex: it helps the student practice the materials

Well....homework is good because it helps the student learn and memorize new skills.Repetition is a common learning tool.Although by answering this question you are not doing much of setting an example....persuasive essays are supposed to be your views. -_-

*eliminates guessing with practice makes perfect experience
*solidifies knowledge through experience
*uses all the school supplies at home that parents bought
*shows parents kids are willing to work
*utilizes all the tear-out sheets that the legislature insisted the state schools purchase so that teachers don't have to really teach just throw hand-outs at the kids and let them learn on their own
*it is ONLY good if there is a REAL reason that all the hours in school are spent attempting to get the main ideas across and the material is so complicated that practice is necessary for future performance...
Basically - homework is a crutch that teachers use NOT to solidify the actual knowledge learned but as a mechanism to show parents that something is being done in class...teacher is a hard-*ss and demands excessive and most often unnecessary work - and as a tool to demean those kids who need the down time at home to recharge and be ready to learn the next day.
For high schoolers - I must add - there are benefits to college preparation and the necessity for self motivation and responsibilities of workmanship. But for the elemenatary students it is overkill....

Homework is good because it helps students learn more about something that was discussed in class. It lets them know more about the subject in detail.

wow i would write a very good essay but i dont feel like it now.. what i would say is homework makes students busy teachers busy teachers get paid if students are busy teachers get paid from the school school gets paid from the government and the government gets money from every tax payer
