There are several sources for financial aid for the college students. These are free resources in locating it.

First, there is the FAFSA.ed.gov. It will help you tap into need based financial aid on both the federal and college levels.

Second, 35 states offer a website in which a student can apply for both college and state college grants at the same time. If your state not have it, search the state website. These can be located at Yahoo.com and Google.com.

Third, your college's financial aid office has a list of private scholarships from organizations and companies.

Fourth, search Google.com and Yahoo.com for scholarships based on your academic major. Also, search minority scholarship with your major.

Fifth, if you are still attending high school, the high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships available to its students to complete and send in the application.

Fifth, join the free membership scholarship search websites. Most are updated on a regular basis.

Good luck!
