You worry that you loose your job and can't find another before you run out of money to pay all your bills, the only reality there is you would no longer be able to live life as your piers are living, but you would still live, so reality only represents an emotion, called FEAR

Reality is that God loves you, but you cannot have a child-like view of God once you are an adult. The allegory stories are told to young children when they are growing up so that they develop a child-like trust in God, which adults DO need to have, a child-like trust, as you can trust God with all of your heart.
God is great, may He have mercy on all, but let us not forget all that He has done. Children love God, adults love, respect, and appreciate God. We must respect Him, and appreciate that He died on the cross for us, appreciate ALL He has done, and ALL He has created.
Reality is that a Christian life is not "the easy way out", it takes dedication, time, patience, will-power, and determination. To live a life out of faith means you live out that life EVERYWHERE! Not just at church or at home, but EVERYWHERE you go you are a true Christian.
