Even the supporters of the war think its time to draw down. Its been three years now, and Iraq needs to pick up the slack. Keep this a secret, but draw down 10% of the total withdraw number every month for the next ten months, filling in that 10% with Iraqi security. The Iraqi's won't be as effective, but its their country, and we have to give it back somehow. Keep a few placed here and there as advisers, but let the Iraqi troops continue the fighting. Providing indefinite security was not part of our plan from the beginning, we've done enough, time to go home - win or lose. This is not "cut-and-run", like it would have been in 2004, its handing something back that we promised not to take.

I am not a military strategy person. The people who are there & study how the war is going must be the ones who decide what to do. The ones here can look easily think they know what to do but they do not have a clue. I am in that position of not knowing what we should do. As a Mother of an Army Officer, I will not be so vain as to think I know best. God bless the USA!

Put a nuke into geosynchronous orbit over the place, with a very bright light so it can be seen at night. Then walk away.
Or, more realistically, phased withdrawal. They're going to kill eachother in a civil war, whether we're there or not. So why are we there? Let's start pulling troops, and finally finish Afghanistan.

Put Lupron (testosterone receptor blocker) in the water supply, everyone gets mellow, birthrate goes down. Craft a government, then get out before pulling the plug on the Lupron.
