I have spent a year on this body of work and don't know how or where to market it. Please don't be abusive. I can take criticism but it's not helpful at this stage as I've already spent the year on the work, what I need right now is helpful. Constructive criticism is of course welcome. http://www.artforall.20megsfree.com/new

The paintings are female nudes, 40 inch x 50 inch oil on canvas, not pornographic, described by a couple of gallery visitors as some of the most tastefuly done nudes they had seen (not sure where they've been looking though).

The one thing you didn't mention is where you live. This will have a great deal to do with how you could market these paintings if you wish to land a gallery to represent you.

The work is very good and there is always a market for photo-realism, which is what your paintings are. As far as galleries go, though, I don't think you can get these into a gallery in the more conservative, smaller markets that would shy away from such nudes. If you aim for galleries in LA or NY you should do pretty good.

I would suggest you take much better photographs (professional would be best) of your work, perfectly lived up, perfectly squared to the viewer, cropped to show only the painting. Trust me, no gallery owner is interested in seeing an off-center copy of a painting hanging on somebody's wall in their living room. Keep your presentation of your work as professional as possible.

After doing this, after taking perfect photographs of your work, you should do a search of the galleries in both LA and NY to find the ones compatible to you and photo-realism and contact the galleries yourself. Most galleries today have web sites with e-mail contacts listed.

Do this with your own work, then contact the galleries. They will ask you to send them e-mail samples (although some old school galleries still ask for slides to be sent) if they're interested.

Nice work you've done, my friend! I wish you well!

I agree, you should give explicit warning to viewers since Yahoo Answers is a public service and viewers may have young children around.

As for you question, a google search for art exhibits should give you a start in your search. Most exhibits charge a fee to display artwork for sale, for monetary reasons and to prevent just anybody from displaying.

They're AMAZING!! You should be really proud of your talent!!
Wow! How much are you charging for them?
In terms of showing them I'm sure ANY art gallery in your town would be happy to do so (they make a commission right.. and those painting s will definately sell)
I would buy one (if I could afford it), tell me your prices...
Good Job

At first it did look slightly obscene. But when you look at the paintings and see them as art, not as a person, they're exquisite! I liked the brushstrokes and the shading. Very lifelike. Good work!

What are those? The thumbnails looked immediately like porn.

Afraid to pop it open again in a family setting. Want to confirm/dispell first impressions?
