Are we an entertainment, an education? Or does our existence serve a real need?

I know it's all opinion but perhaps someone has some real insight.

No, we need Him.

That is a very good question and I think that he does need us. The thing that makes Him God and all powerful is the fact that he has someone that worships him. The same question could be asked of a King. Would a King really be a King if he had no subjects and no one to follow him? No, he would just be a normal person. The thing that makes him a king is that he has followers and they obey him. God is the same way, what makes him God is that he has followers and people that strive to obey him.

Apparently He needs us badly. There He was, supposedly floating in the neverending void with NOTHING around him, no past, no universe, NOTHING. Also apparently, this wasn't to his liking after a while. (How long a while, exactly? Sorry, there was no time either, so no way to know how long.) Therefore, He went and made US to give meaning to His own existance. If He hadn't, there would be no one to worship him, follow him, obey him, honor him, fear him, pray, make rituals, build places for mass worship, start wars in his name, write books, etc.

God does not need us, But there are organizations who steal God's identity and tell us they speak for God do. They needs us as their slaves.
They tell us what to do, what to buy (or not to buy) , and tell us who to vote for (or not to vote for). When they successfully con our president , they can start wars for imaginary reasons.

They also tell us who to love, and who to hate and who are our enemies or friends. They consider themselves "above the law"
"big potatoes" etc.If you don't obey them they send their imps as
the god's army, and make your life miserable.
Osama Bin Laden is a good example,he sends people who love him and believe him to their death, making them be live that God created them for only one purpose, to kill Jews and Americans.
He offers many rewards, once they kill themselves. This includes
property in heavens, to 72 virgins.
He is so successful , that some people, who admire him,try to imitate him. If you love and believe in Real God, avoid them.
They are easy to recognize, when they talk to you,you feel hatred, unhappiness, fearful, and you must do things otherwise you would never do.Lets learn how to differentiate between God's true love and "Osama Love"

He certainly does seem to need us, in a sycophantic way. I mean, he supposedly created us for one purpose - to worship him. And then, if you go by the Judeo-Christian account, he set us up for some sort of fall, so that we would feel that we couldn't live without him.

You know, I've dated girls who acted like that.

No, the Bible says He is self existent and doesn't need us. However, He wants us and loves. He desires a interactive daily relationship with us.

Are your children your entertainment? God is a loving father, not a guy sitting on a throne looking down on you.
