yes they do as a matter of fact.lose them yearly and when they grow back i think it is average an inch a day or close to it.
the weight of the deer really depends on the region u hunt.it seems like further north u get the bigger the deer.for example in wisconsin a mature buck might weigh 180lbs,where in texas he might weigh 130lbs.
also when whitetail lose their antlers they also are sterile and cannot produce semen.
these are whitetails that i am speaking of.dont know to much about elk
