Don't worry too much about this.....people that are placed on PCAs (patient-controlled analgesia devices) actually use a LOWER quantity of drug as a rule.

If you're talking about just having one in for a few days after surgery or something, don't sweat it---very few people get "medically hooked", with the possible exception of hospice patients (and they're not getting stoned; they're having their pain controlled---BIG difference).

Talk to your providers if you have more concerns or questions.

I guess you could if you were able to control the dosage, but you can't so don't worry about it.
