Parents can be real asses. There's no law against it.

Parents cannot legally disown their children, though they may be stupid enough to verbalize such a feeling.

When it comes serious home stuff like this, it is a bit unfair for a person you don't know very well to bounce this sort of stuff off of you. It's not a situation you can change, all you can be is sympathetic to her situation.

If she is seriously having thoughts of running away - I think the best thing you can do is ask her if there is a teacher or an adult in her life (aunt or uncle) that she can go to with this stuff. There are all sorts of things available for someone who is going through tough times emotionally, and a trustworthy adult is probably the best way to get the necessary support.

Unfortunately, you can't do too much. It is not a situation in which you have a direct voice.

Good luck.

It may be that mother's way of letting this girl know that her daughter is not following any of the rules, etc. that she has setup. The mother at this point has given up on her. The mom will probably feed her daughter, etc. but won't give her the emotional support that she's going to need.

Be there for that girl (if you know her) and give her the chance to talk. Sounds like she's gonna need her friends during this hard time.

that's sad .. at least you can talk to her , there's hope , I think its on your shoulder's to help her out , maybe take her into your family , if she run's away , who knows where she might end up , drugs , prostitution , dead , if you ever thought about doing something right in your life , this could be your opportunely

on the other hand be careful that shes not scamming you..

It happens a lot more than you think. I have heard of that for years. In some cases they find their way back together again. Which is a good thing.
