our kids need to feel responsible in order to understand their future. there are currently no jobs offered to our kids from the age of 12 to 18! 15 to 20 years ago we had ON THE JOB TRAINING for our kids with local companys that were willing to let our kids go and work for them, and learn the experience of working and learinging. We only have McDonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King and so on and so on. I do not think that that is our future, we need good Lawyers, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, and why not, Presidensts for our future. What will we get with what we are training NOW?????

teenagers are employed at jobs, but their main purpose should be to study in school, have a social life and there is not much time left....to become a lawyer, doctor, etc. ,the time for that is after high school, college is hard and they need the high school structure to become ready for the heavy course ahead of them....why shorten their social life for simple jobs, while parents can teach them to be responsible and to study and take life serious...this is the parents job not the work force...teenagers will face this cruel world soon enough, let them have the years in their teens to be a kid....

I agree. The problem is our government would rather feed 3rd world countries, go to unnecessary wars, and fly to the moon and other galactic exercises in futility.

If our youth had more positive activities, they'd be less inclined to get into trouble.

Child labor laws. How about be a parent and give your child chores so he won't think he has to be paid every time he does a little work?
