Human shampoo wil REALLY irritate your dog. but these are other resons.:
*u didn't get all the soap off
*Human shampoo
*Fleas or mites
*maybe your dog is allergic to something in your house or something in the shampoo
*dry skin: if your dog has dry skin DO NOT use any human lotion go to a vet or petsmart or petco and simply ask if they have any lotion for dogs
*if toward but or face then you need to get a soft colth and wipe the butt or face gently
*maybe the paws are the one that are irritating your dog check the paws for things stuck in them or make sure they are clean
*some dogs do this because they want attention or because they want you to scratch them yourself
*try calling your vet or driving to the vet
*it might be an internal itch like a worm or parasite in you poor dog... i think the vet is the best solution they will tell you what is going on and give your dog medicine for your dog.
I really hope that this will help you and your dog. Good luck!

its not serious and its not because you used human shampoo. its probably because your dog either has allergies or maybe got bit by a bug of some kind while goofing around outside. but if this keeps occuring for the next 3-4 weeks take your dog to the vet and pick up some medicine, just to help with the itching.
nothing to worry about.

I've given my dogs baths with human shampoo before and they didn't have a problem with it. Maybe you didn't rinse it all out? Try rinsing your dog off with water, but no more shampoo. If this doesn't stop the itching, you might want to take him to the vet. In the future, I would use dog shampoo, just in case he's allergic to human shampoo.

you neglected to say what breed of dog you have. For example labs, retrievers or dogs with alot of hair easily get yeast infections or " hot" spots if they are not 100% dried. Also, this was a bad summer as far as lime disease was concerned. Be mindful of ticts.

Could be allergies. One of my friend's dog is like that and she has to get cortizone shots. You should take him to the vet to get him checked out.

it should be someting worst, like 'microscopic bugs' (I know the word in spanish, but couldn't find the translation to english -ácaros...), on the skin of the puppy. This is treated with an oral medicament.
