Just keep in mind when you do get your tat that you are still young. So whatever you do choose to get, make sure it is what you want not what your friends want. And I would wait till your old enough to do it on your own without your parents consent. Because it will give you more time to think about it and also when you pay for it, it will mean alot more to you. Make sure you get a clean reputable shop. And your young, so when you do get one or more, then make sure they are in areas that you can cover. Because you still have to go out in the world and get a job. Also remember you get what you pay for. If it is a real good deal from a friend then run away! Because that will be on your body. And a good way to tell the average right now, for an apprentice is around $ 50 an hour in Arizona. A seasoned tattoo artist can run from $100 to $150 an hour. Check out the tat artists portfolio of their work and see if it is the kind of work you want done. Don't just go to one shop, check out alot of them. Because if you decide to get just a tribal tat, that separates the (canvas) of your arm. So if you decide later on to get something else, you have a problem. So make sure it is something you really want. I waited till I was 40 when I got mine, I knew what I wanted to have done. I looked at alot of books and checked out alot of places. Till I found the right one. I invested alot of money because it was a work of art on my body. I sat for 8 sittings and goes from my neck to the bottom of my back. My husband started 34 years ago in Hong Kong at Pinkies. Suffice it to say that inks have changed as well as techniques and cleanliness.

yes. written permission (and your parents have to be present) can override the 18 year old law. Just make sure you know what you want.

in the place i go to, they won't allow you to do anything unless your 18 with documentation! Temp tattoos are a waist of money and time! A temp will run you about 60 bucks! But 60 bucks everytime you go? It could run a hole in your pocket! Just do yourself a favor and wait until your legaly old enough to have one. I waited until i was 22 to get mine! And i Love them. My boyfriend and i Get ours done at the same time at the same place!

I think you can be 45 and still not be old enough to get one.I have three, and think you're old enough when you are smart enough to get something that you will not regret and you will love for the rest of your life. Because that's how long it will be there.

If you are considering the age you might get a tattoo, also consider the age that you will regret having done so.

tatoos can be cool...but the best thing to do is to get a temprary one and just get it redone wen it wears, because wen ur an old man and ur skin gets all wrinkly, so will that tatoo, and i garuntee that u will regret getting it!
