It's for both, but it's not from 'God'. We needed a use for Latex, and someone to take care of us when we get old, and sex solves both problems.

Both. I do like the enjoyment part.
God made sex for procreation then God found out we were enjoying se so God made sex a sin if you enjoy it.
I hope that doesn't upset the Religionists. ;-)

Let's see--women were created with an organ known *only* to produce pleasurable sensations, men have all those awesome nerve endings in their penii, and infertile people like me can still enjoy sex. Yep, I think enjoyment was part of the initial deal.
PS--KT is wrong. Responses that can only be described as pleasure have been seen in dolphins and all the big apes (chimps, bonobos, etc.)

Of course enjoyment is there. But those who have higher consciousness are not interested in temporary, superficial enjoyment. It generally ends in pain any way. Just think of all the pain that comes from just a little bit of sex pleasure. The fear of getting pregnant or getting someone pregnant. Diseases, bad children, and the list goes on and on. So best to give up the whole idea that it is actually pleasure I like the analogy of the Camel The Camel's favorite food is thorny twigs. He thinks they taste so good but he is only tasting his one blood. Most pleasure in this world is much like that. Hmmmm

God gave us many parts of the body with each to be used for specific purpose, to form part of everything we can conceive. I am sure it is not only our sex that is part that can be used for enjoyment aside from the continuing cycle of creation. We create music using our thinking brain, mouth to express the song, our feet can walk climb and run oftentimes for our physical enjoyments.
