I'm trying to find out whether a person who owns a trailer home in Michigan would be listed as a homeowner for the purpose of property reports. Also, how often do you need to get license plate stickers for your vehicle (every year or every two years?), and how and where are they displayed. I'm trying to find out whether someone is telling the truth or lying about owning property (real estate and vehicle).

Ok, I tried the MI SOS link, but it doesn't answer my real question. Now I know that they renew every year on their b-days (thanks Mr. Z!), but do the stickers show a month and year, or only the month? How do you know whether the sticker has expired?

They pay $3 per year in property taxes, and that's collected by the park, so it's not tax deductible. You don't have to have any license plate if the trailer is a permanent, immobile structure (unlike in Florida). Try going to state of mich.gov and look up the secretary of state link. They will tell you EVERYTHING you could possilby think to ask about this.

I don't think they are "homeowners" if it's on rented property. Vehicle registration is every year due on your birthday. Tag is displayed on rear liscence plate. Since there is a choice of style on plates some of the different styles require the sticker to be in different corners,
