It's a preference thing. Personally, I prefer low maintenance dogs. The Yorkie has too much fur for me. The dachshund on the other hand has short fur so grooming is easier.

yorkies rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 2 teacups yorkies , they do not shed, nor have Dandruff like most dogs ,, and are easily trained to litter box , dachshunds shed, and are not recommended for people who are Allergies the yorkies eat less and have a lot less heredity problems

I have owned doxies in the past, so I vote for them. Yorkies are so cute, but I don't like the grooming it takes to care for one of them.

what about them, which is cuter,smarter, prettier, more loyal , more friendly. depends on who has the dog and how they treat them. yorkies r fierce little fighters and dachsies r loyal to a fault . they both r smart and friendly. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i like them both and have neither. i have a cat.

I would have to say dachshund.... because there are so many to choose from... my brother has a red one and i just got a black and tan one... they are so laid back and they protect there owners very well...
