Im an immigrant and Im everyday grateful to God for the opportunity to live in this country. Americans are great people, those that are racist are just a minority, they're unhappy people that have nothing to do, so its a trivial thing and I dont worry about it. I just enjoy everyday like it will be my last.

There are countries where you cant even get a job if you are a foreigner !! So I dont understand why people attack the US so much, this is one of the countries that have one of the most flexible immigrant laws among the rich countries. Some countries you cant get citizenship no matter if you marry one of their citizens and no matter if you had been living there your whole life, you have to be born there.

Im agree that the US have to secure its borders, Its a demographic problem, that was why the immigration laws were created, at first we didnt have immigration laws but now we need them to asure we will not run out of resources because of immigration.

USA rules !!

Thank you from a native! My husband is an immigrant and feels the same way as you... even with all our problems and such, America and its concepts are still a wonderful nation and we wouldn't be without the melting pot of all those who have come here to become citizens and believe we can always get better and always improve and always try to grow as a nation.
Many times I think people feel the way you state because they are literally taught to feel that way or programmed thru the media they see- many countries aren't like here where we can read anything, and look at how biased ours gets-and the big guy-us- always gets blamed too, whether we do it or not. It just would be nice to also get THANKED too, just every once in a while....we always need to get better but that's why we- and the world- are a work in progress.

We have assumed a political parental role in the world since we helped defeat the axis powers in WWII. In that, we have provided a lot of foreign aid. Like a parent, we feel we deserve something in return, and this has translated to a spread of our culture in some parts of the world where it was not welcome.

The easy example is the McDonald's in some parts of Eastern Europe. But others include our music, our attitude, and other elements of our style, which some traditional thinkers outside the US find offensive. True, there may be more substantial reasons like our ability to meddle in foreign business matters, but its our engulfing culture that seems to inflame the world the most.

However, this is no excuse for extremists to form alliances and kill us wholesale, and we have the right to defend ourselves. Therein lies our dilemma. We're not well liked by many to begin with, and when we strike out and kill some people - either intentionally or by accident, the hatred burns even brighter against us.

Holy crap! I never thought I'd hear a foreigner say this! Thank you. I think that most people only see the finished product of America's actions. We went to war in Iraq, which most countries disagreed with, but it took a lot of argument amongst the American people to get there. We don't all look at everything with a similar disposition. So foreign countries I think blame us for our leadership, when we in fact don't agree with our leaders either.

Theres a black man with a black cat
Living in a black neighbourhood
Hes got an interstate runnin through his front yard
You know, he think, that hes got it so good
And theres a woman in the kitchen cleanin up the evening slop
And he looks at her and says: hey darling, I can remember when you could stop a clock

Chorus:
Oh but aint that america for you and me
Aint that america were someting to see baby
Aint that america, home of the free
Little pink houses for you and me

Well theres a young man in a t-shirt
Listening to a rockin rollin station
Hes got a greasy hair, greasy smile
He says: lord, this must be my destination
cuz they told me, when I was younger
Boy, youre gonna be president
But just like everyting else, those old crazy dreams
Just kinda came and went

Chorus:
Oh but aint that america for you and me
Aint that america were someting to see baby
Aint that america, home of the free
Little pink houses for you and me

Well theres people and more people
What do they know know know
Go to work in some high rise
And vacation down at the gulf of mexico
Ohhh yeah
And theres winners, and theres losers
But they aint no big deal
cuz the simple man baby pays for the thrills,
The bills and the pills that kill

Chorus:
Oh but aint that america for you and me
Aint that america were someting to see baby
Aint that america, home of the free
Little pink houses for you and me

Oh but aint that america for you and me
Aint that america were someting to see baby
Aint that america, home of the free
Little pink houses for you and me

You're right... we should be more grateful & anybody who doesn't think so should go to another country that isn't as liberal as the USA... then they'd undoubtedly appreciate the USA much more.
It's like this>>> we never miss the water till the well runs dry... we don't really appreciate/value water until we don't have it available to us any more... then we certainly do want it... & want it desperately!

on an international level it's a hypocritcal bully.

on a domestic level it has the highest inequality ratios in the world and the crime that is a natural consequence.

of course it is relatively free and a lot better than most countries in the world. still, there are other countries which handle immigrants a lot better.
