It surprises me that if a Parent can love a child unconditionally, why doesn't God?

No. Sorry. You can not possibly even attempt at thinking like God. He is incapable of sin. He made you. You are part of a fallen race of people who chose sin over God's authority. God has created a way for us to "bridge the gap" and have eternal life with Him through His son, Jesus Christ. You do have the free will to make the choice whether or not you will go to Heaven. It is out of God's hands, although He knows how it ends up. Just the way it is. Be careful when choosing. oh, He loves you and wants you to be with Him. He will not force you. He welcomes you with loving arms, but YOU choose. And shame on you, Boopie, for being so judgemental ~ wow, who gave you the right to condemn anyone?

The Bible leaves a backdoor open for everyone, Atheists, Hindus, Osamas, Jews, Nazis even un-baptized babies!
A bunch of Christian Scientists are about to start cut and pasting the sections of the Bible, Old New and King James.

No, because atheists are much worse than murders, theives, rapist, and other criminals. They all will have a place in heaven because they believe in Jesus, the atheists is much more vile because of his lack of belief in God.
Horrible atheists they derserve to burn in hell for using the brains that their God gave them. Their intelligence is their doom.

That would be a noble action, but a single action doesn't compose your being.

Nope.
Unjust and foolish.
Heaven would shortly cease to exist if such a thing was done.

No, you are not just because justice demands reconciliation for sin. If someone steals money from you, would the Judge be just to just let him go?
