It's a short-term illness that you get from kissing people, drinking after people, sharing lipstick, etc. It's not life-threatening.

What is infectious mononucleosis?

Infectious mononucleosis (commonly called "mono") is a viral illness usually caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Mono most commonly develops in young adults between the ages of 15 and 24. 1 The virus can be spread through contact with saliva, mucus (from the nose and throat), and sometimes tears. Rarely, EBV is spread through blood transfusions. Because the virus can be spread through saliva, mono is sometimes called the kissing disease.

Once you have been infected with EBV, your body may periodically shed (or give off) the virus throughout your lifetime, possibly spreading the virus to others. 2 This can occur despite the fact that you do not have symptoms after your initial mono infection; the virus may still be found in your saliva many months after you have recovered from your symptoms. Some newly infected people may not have any symptoms of mono and may not be aware they are spreading the virus that causes mono.

It's hard to say but it probably wont lose your memory. Mono also affects people in all different ways. Good luck =D

Memory loss is amnesia

Mononucleosis is a disease that causes fatigue and sore throat. It can last for months and is very infectious (thus often called "kissing disease" which is how it is often spread among young people)

Mononucleosis (often called "mono") is an infection caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. Signs of mono include fever, sore throat, headaches, white patches on the back of your throat, swollen glands in your neck, feeling tired and not feeling hungry.

In future do this: Type in your search window ' define ' and then the word you want. As it is you'd probably get monoaural meaning non stereo.

mon·o·nu·cle·o·sis (mn-nkl-ss, -ny-) KEY

NOUN:

The presence of an abnormally large number of white blood cells with single nuclei in the bloodstream.
Infectious mononucleosis.

ETYMOLOGY:
mono- + nucle(us) + -osis

It's mononucleosis...my spelling on that may not be right on.
It makes you REALLY tired (Fatigued), headachy, feverish, swollen lymph nodes, don't want to eat, and I believe it effects your immune system that you can get other viruses easier. Some in the medical field call it the "kissing" disease, but you can get it from burning your candle on both ends (by simply not resting).

Mono is when you have too many different saliva's in your system (you have made out with too many people) and your mouth gets very sore and your tongue hurts. And It has nothing to do with memory loss

No, it has nothing to do with memory. It's like the flu or strep throat. It's very contagious.
