if so what are yams.it is a term used in the book.but i dont know what they are.

Read the book when I was in high school. It's so awesome and I still remember it. Yams are a type of food that are usually orange and you may know them from Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. They are a vegetable, soft and sort of similar to a squash.

Yams are a sweeter, yellowish-orange version of the potato. They are less regularly oval shaped, rounder, often with a pointy root at the end. They are good baked or cooked and mashed with brown sugar and/or marshmallows.

i have, about 3 years ago. The yams were actual yams, the things you eat.
