Assuming either or both exist, it seems (with the wars, famines and genocides) that the devil has a more hands on approach.
And as any kid can tell you, "Always fear the parent that's paying attention".

I agree, there's no reason to fear the devil. Only those who are not Christians or those who are Christians that don't understand God's power fear the devil.

No one that truly knows God fears the devil or anything else for that matter. The only fear of a true believer is the reverential fear of God.

you are not to fear the devil if you fear him then that means you don't trust God , fear is what the devil want because it causes you to take your eyes and faith from God

evil and suffering is debated to be for many reasons as god is surposedly all powerful, kind and loveing etc. one argument is that evil and good is in a battle and this explains evil and good, if you are faithful to god then you wil go to heaven but if you are not faithful you will go to hell and this is why religions may fear the devil.

I have faith in the one true God and in salvation thru His Son, Jesus. I believe that my faith removes any and all "fear" of the devil. Satan has no power over someone with faith.
What I DO fear is the price others will pay as they continue to deny God and fall prey to false teachings and gods.

The word "devil" comes from the Greek "diavolos" (διάβολοÏ) which, comes from the verb "diavalo" (διαβάλÏ) which in essence means: to slander, to calumniate, to detract, to defame, to blacken to speak ill for someone, etc.
Can you see now why the word "devil" is used for anything to oppose the good that is supposed to be coming from God?
Hope thi helps a little.

Christians will say they don't fear the Devil, but if they didn't fear the Devil, they wouldn't fear Hell; therefore, they would not suffocate themselves to their lives of regulations.

Christians don't fear Satan.
Why should we??
Satan is already defeated...toothless kitty cat to believers.
Sinners need to fear God.
