As said before there are many non-profits that help low-income pet owners. My recommendation is to call a local shelter and ask who they recommend. If you're in a city there are often times teaching hospitals which will do many procedures for a drastically reduced cost. There are also often clinics and fairs for vaccinations and spaying. Most cities even have programs that will give out vouchers for particularly low-income pet owners. I'm not sure what your financial situation is so this isn't necessarily directed at you. Being broke does not mean you don't deserve the joys of pethood, however it also does not excuse you from taking good care of your pets. There are lots of organisations out there dedicated to helping you keep pets happy and healthy. I recommend Planned Pethood or the Cat Care Society. My favourite organisation, one that has been infinitely helpful to me over the years dealing with feral and my own kitties and has my undying gratitude, is Alley Cat Allies http://www.alleycat.org/ . They go above and beyond to help you with anything you might need to prevent unhealthy kitties of all walks of life.

Depends on the area you live in. Where I live there is a non-profit agency where males cost $30; females $35 at most. Compare vets. If money hard to come by, call your local shelter. You'd be surprised how many cities have neuter/spay programs at reasonable prices. Whatever you do, don't let your pet have kittens. A female who has had kittens is at greater risk for mammary cancer. I foster cats/kittens for local org......they're the lucky ones. Most are euthanized. Whatever you do, pls don't let her out. It's not safe.

It will vary depending on the cats age/weight, and the vet you choose. Having cats altered is a great idea though because there are way too many anyway.
