In what price range?

The Honda Civic is probably the best safe car with sticker price under $20. After that I would agree on the Volvo in the $20. In terms of the new small cars, I would probably trust the Honda Fit over everyone else as it seems Honda has a strong safety program.

Actually, the two safest cars are the Saab and the Volvo. Not necessarily affordable, but the safest for sure.

Chevy Aveo It has a Dual 5 star crash test rating and you can purchase a nicely equipped one for around $13000. It is great on gas and has an unbelievable amount of interior space.
