I could write a three page answer to this one but I'll just refer you to a source...Last months issue of Free Inquiry has an article in the chapter...Sects and Violence... the article is called "Is Religion Good for Us?"

Without going into too much detail, it states that the more religious a country, the worse their economy, educational system, health system, the more wars they are involved in, the more infant mortality, higher aids/hiv infection, the higher their suicide rateand the less gender equality.

It doesn't matter what religion...Christian Countries in Africa, South and Central America suffer from this plight also. Hindu countries such as India and Sri Lanka also suffer as a result of religion and superstition.

Were does America stand in all of this? While we are very religious and only 3 - 7 percent of Americans claim to be athiest but when it comes to societal health, the U.S. fares better than the rest of the world. (We rank 8th)

But if we compare ourselves to other industrial, first world countries (like Canada, Japan, and Europe) our suicide rate, health care, poverty, crime rate, obesity and homelessness rates are higher than its more secular peer nations....

I've gone on too long already...read the article in Free Inquiry. A real eye opener with good Documentation.

Its not just Muslim countries!!! Fanaticism brings hardship to any nation and the proof is in the pudding!

Have you ever read a book? Do you have a brain? Have you reached puberty?

There are many places in the world where the inhabitants live under the poverty line, such places can even be found in rich countries such as Britain, France and USA. Are you forgetting the shanty towns of Brazil and Mexico? Christian countries with many poor.

Europes/USA's wealth comes from colonialism (ie stealing from other countries.)

They don't. And it's closed-minded people like you who perpetuate the idea that they do. I have worked and/or visited several Muslim nations and havebn't found this to be the case. Certainly there are poor areas, just as there are in any "developed" nation such as the US, UK or Canada.

Do yourself a favor and do a Web search on Dubai, Abu Djabi, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar or Bahrain. What you see will most likely surprise you!

Open your eyes and your mind...

Have you ever been to any Muslim country? I doubt it because you don't seem to have any knowledge on the subject. Travel, get an education by doing so and get a life mate.

It is in their inbred mentality in the fundamentalist areas around the horn of Africa, spending money on arms and not people. Some countries such as Egypt and the Saudis do have a good structure for the support of their citizens. So one cannot generalise and lump them all together.

They don't - how about Dubai where they have just built massive artificial islands to where most of the rich and famous in this country are heading for their holidays.

Should we generalise that all people from your country can't spell?

I am not a muslim, but allow me to say. That your statements are not true. Most muslim countries are highly educated and very rich. (OIL). For instance some muslim countries actually pay couples to marry. $12,000 wedding gift. Read about it.

One persons shitty life styles is anothers ones cultural bliss.
I personally won't live the life of many Americans in this country either. Their life style is really shitty.

They don't.
Ever been to Saudi Arabia? Qatar? Dubai?
No squalor, no famine, lots of infrastructure, and they live quite nicely.
You can't generalize like that about *anything.*
