Only you know if you're racist. Who you date doesn't make you racist.

It does not mean your racists to hang out with people from other races, it just means you have a preference. However, the fact that you are exclusively attracted to one race may be a defense mechanism you are using to supress some intense feelings of hurt, shame or disgust. Carl Jung described the Shadow as the dark side of our egos and, even though Jung described the Shadow as not being inherently good or bad (acting out of instinct to do what it needed to do) we as humans perceieve these animal instincts to be viscous so we often put a lot of our unwanted and dark desires there. If left unattended to and ignored, they will manifest in other ways without us being able to stop them.

Other defense mechanisms include:

Denial: claiming/believing that what is true to be actually false.
Displacement: redirecting emotions to a substitute target.
Intellectualization: taking an objective viewpoint.
Projection: attributing uncomfortable feelings to others.
Rationalization: creating false but credible justifications.
Reaction Formation: overacting in the opposite way to the fear.
Regression: going back to acting as a child.
Repression: pushing uncomfortable thoughts into the subconscious.
Sublimation: redirecting 'wrong' urges into socially acceptable actions.

if you are feeling shame or guilt about your preference for black men, perhaps you have some unresolved issues that you need to let out. Those feelings could be the emergence of suppressed emotions. As an individual in an interacial relationship I can tell I understand how difficult it can be some times. But, there is no need to be ashamed or feel guilty. It is other peoples beliefs that are the problem, not yours. Allowing yourself to truly believe these things could be very helpful to you.

well - I have basically done the same thing except with east indians- Im not hugely experienced so I m pretty sure I will move on pretty soon- but i think it has alot to do with being an insecure person and so when they hit on me or ask me out I dont get all racist but am ttly cool with it. They are easier to get along with for me because I know they are somewhat insecure themselves- because of a language or sadly, colour difference. but hey there is nothing wrong with it- most of the white guys ive met are jerks and ***holes anyway- if you just appreciate black humour and character then who cares about the rest of us whities? Its like wondering if its ok to like chinese food better than fries....

You aren't a racist and if you were, you would know it. You just are more attracted to Black men probably and like Black people's styles so you hang out with them alot.

Everyone has there own preferences and you shouldn't feel bad about it and that doesn't make you a racist against your own race. You can't help who you are attracted to. I wish the rest of the world understood that. What another person that I don't know does with their time has no effect on me. Keep doing what makes you happy.

if you are not racist, why is it bothering you now?..did someone say something...did someone try to date you ?...what brought on this question...just because you hang out and do things with your own people doesnt mean ****...how do you feel about other races ? do you have hatred towards other races ?...if you are cool with it, then just forget this...if you are not cool with other races then you need to evaluate where these feelings are coming from....sometimes you do discriminate self consciously and you dont realize it ...but if you really dont think about it too much i wouldnt worry about it....just be nice to everyone and you will be fine...for the record im 1/4 chinese and 3/4 cambodian...does that make me any better?...Hell no..lol...we are all the same my dear...i dont think the paramedics will check your skin color before they give you cpr do they?..i wouldnt ...i dont see color i love you just the way you are ...

It's not a racism thing. Maybe you're just more attracted to black guys than you are to white guys. I prefer white guys over black guys, and that doesn't make me a racist. It's just a lack of attraction.

No, you just know what floats your own boat. I am a 21 year old gay guy that definitly knows about racisem or should I say critisim. If thats what you like then do it. Don't question yourself.
Its just like- I like guys instead of gurls. Some people say why don't you try a gurl - you've never been with one. And I reply because I know what I like. Hope I helped you out

Not at all.
Racism is only to think that different races have different rights.
It's not a question of tastes or preferences. It's a question of the acceptance of each other rights. Just so.

No. I am white and I am usually only dating/liking black boys, thers nothing wrong with that, unless u discriminate against your own race, which I'm sure u don't.
