I had my belly button pierced the second time & it's been about 8 months now. Both the first and second time, my piercing "migrated" and my skin gets thinner and thinner. I'm thinking about closing it up but I don't understand why this always happens to me. Are some people just not meant to have belly piercings so your body rejects it? If so, whyyyy???

Well, seeing how migration is your body's way of telling you it wants something foreign out, your body might just be picky about it. SOME migration is natural, but I would have to see how much has happened to know if its normal or not. My 6 navel piercings all migrated a bit, but nothing drastic or noticeable to anyone but me

Also, some jewelry styles and materials increase migration and infection. Depending on your anatomy and shape of your navel, migration and rejection might be more likely to happen. How you sit and the clothes you wear can effect healing as well as how you took care of the piercing. Not saying its all your fault, but if the second time isn't a charm, I would try something else or get more opinions about it.

(Sorry I can't be more help, if I could see the navel, I could tell you more)

Remove the stud or whatever you call it from your skin, you may still end up with a little sloppy piece of skin from the damage that has been done already. Doesn't seem like you are a likely candidate for body piercings. Be glad you can cover up this mistake, imagine if you had had your eyebrow done and this happened.

maybe you're a keloid former. have you had anything else pierced and took some time to heal or got infected? well, i had a belly piercing too but then the ball came off, and when i got home it was already closed. i thought it only got infected because it took some time to heal completely. i went to my dermatologist and asked her about it, she said i'm a keloid former and that i can't get anything else pierced or tattooed. that sucks, right? i can't really tell you if you should take it off because you might not be a keloid former. try checking with your dermatologist. good luck with that! ;]

YES, your body is rejecting the foreign object. Unfortunately I would give up on it unless you want to have to pay for a plastic surgeon to fix these random skin deformaties. I had mine done and got older , didn't want it and now I have a hole that won't go away . Just let it go, one day you will be happy it didn't take, I promise! : )

Well it can be from metal allergies and your skin cant handle it. Especially in the belly button its a real sensitive spot. Id say close it up.
