Anything modern that your guests can dance to is GREAT! I would stay away from the chicken dance and the macarena...those are not very popular in the wedding industry anymore. Just remember, the band (or dj) and songs are what sets the mood for the reception...so anything that will keep them dancing is a sure bet!!

I am also 20. I just got married a week and a half ago. We had an outdoor wedding and was kind western themed. We just chose our music. Whatever we liked. We danced to the first song we danced to when we met. It's YOUR wedding. You don't have to go traditional. Choose songs that mean something to you.

I pretty much left it in the hands of the DJ. I gave him a vague idea of what I wanted and who would attending and he did awesome.

Think about it, your DJ has done hundreds of weddings, he/she knows what's going to work best for your audience. I got married at 23 and thought in my head, "I don't want xxx", but sometimes that turned out to be exactly what my party needed. A lot of my guests were older family, so the DJ gauged for that a lot better than I could.

If you have some songs that are special to you and you absolutely want, request them, but otherwise, let the DJ take it and run.

For your father/daughter dance your best bet is "I Loved Her First" by Heartland "Butterfly Kisses" by Garth Brooks or "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw.

For your first dance, even though it is an oldie, you can do "Unforgetable" by Nat King Cole or "Good Morning Beautiful" or "A Moment Like This" by Kelly Clarkson

As corny as this one is, I prob. would have to say "I do" by 98 degrees. Here are some others:

1) "So much in Love" by All-4-One
2) "All My Life" by KC & Jojo
3) "Everything I do, I do it For You" by Bryan Adams
4) Mariah Carey Songs
5) Shanice
