What is the simplest way to convert avi. files so you can make a DVD you can watch on a regular DVD player? Details appreciated :D

Use Nero 7 Ultra "Nero StartSmart" and from the menu choose "Make Your Own DVD-Video" this will take you to another window.
drag-drop the movie and click burn. it will take about 20 minutes or more depending on the capacity of the movie eg. 700MB
