Can you run 2 different virus scanners at the same time? Yes, you can. But, should you run 2 different viruses at the same time? Definitely not a good idea. As a general rule you should only one scanner at a time. In fact, many antivirus software programs will not install if it detects a computer has an antivirus program already installed (e.g. Symantec and Kaspersky antivirus). If there are 2 different programs, each will detect the other as malware.

It is not really recommended to run two real tine anti virus programs more the likely you will have conflict between the two that will create some problems.
You can however have two anti virus programs installed, one being real time protection the other being manually activated.
I run avast antivirus as my real time protection and have bit defender as my back up, where one programs lacks the other will pick up any other problems ,
I do not try running both scans at the same time.

Yes but your computer will run slower so its better to turn the 2 virus scans on and then leave and run some errands or something.
