"And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery...in the very act...the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?...He that is without sin, let him first cast a stone at her...being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one...Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?...No man, Lord...Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more...I am the light of the world: he that followth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life...Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man, And yet if I judge, my judgment is true..."
John 8:3-16

Who ever told you that all Christians are judgmental bigots? My church teaches tolerance, acceptance and unconditional charity. Sorry to disappoint you.

Christians aren't suppose to condemn other people. I am a Christian and I don't candemn anyone.
For the unsaved in the world, I don't judge them except that they need salvation. For Born again Christians, I don't judge them lest I be judged. If a Christian commits adultary, I pray for them. A person born of God cannot abide a sin (make it a comfortable habit) because of the Holy Seed within. So I know God is in control and disciplines.
I walk in forgiveness if someone hurts my feelings. I bless those that curse me, etc...

That's an awesome story, and a lot can be learned from it. Obviously, not too many people see that. I for one am one of the few Christians whe don't condemn others. The Bible says that God sees all sin the same. That means he doesn't care if we lied to our parents or murderd hundreds of children. (a little extreme but it gets the point across) He will still forgive us if we ask Him. We need to learn to forgive others, as God has forgiven us.

Christians, huh! That's a pretty broad and generalized statement.
As Christians the Bible teaches us that we are not to judge or condem anyone, but to be forgiving, patient, gentle, compassionate and understanding. These are fruits of the spirit.
Many people choose to inject thier ideas and way of life on others, but that's not the Christain way.
That was the problem with the Pharisees and scribes. Promoting themselves instead of GOD!

Christians are told "not to judge" for a good reason. God Himself will be the final judge at the end of the age. The one thing that you have to remember about Christians is that we're sinners that have found a way to cover our sins. That doesn't mean that we don't. It's just really hard for us to admit it. We can really screw things up for ourselves when we don't take the time to really think about the consequences of our actions. We're all guilty of sin, that includes judging others.

Christianity is not about condemning others. Rather it is about sharing Jesus' message of love and the salvation offered by a loving and forgiving Father in heaven.
Peace be with you,
Michael

You are missing the whole point here.
Go and sin no more.
Thats what they were all being told to do, not just the woman.
Whatever your sin is, if you were trying to justify it by this story, it will not work, for you would have to Go and sin no more.
If you wanted to use this to get people to stay quiet and not call Sin what it is, you are wrong. However, we will not stone you to death for that sin, as that is Gods place, not ours. Jesus never said we couldnt call sin what it is, we just cannot put you to death for it.

I don't condemn others. They condemn themselves. I just pray for them that they turn to God for forgiveness. I don't judge people either way- I try to be friendly to everyone.
Christianity isn't about judging non-Christians. Its about spreading the word of God and the news about his love to others.

Like what? Are you saying that Christians are not supposed to have morals and are to accept truth as being relative? Your example makes sense for many situations, but you cannot extrapolate this into behaviors that would cause great harm to humanity.

Unfortunately, there are many of us christians who seem to think that God changed His mind and made us the Judge instead of Christ. Those people are simply hypocrites, because the bible tells us quite clearly that Jesus is the judge, not any of us.
