to win the mid-term elections for the republicans of course. he sees that the war is not going well.....iraq is about to fall apart, he should have changed policy MONTHS ago, or better yet, not lied to the american people at all to get us involved in a war....in which there is NO WAY TO WIN...we should not be there, should have never gone there, and now...this will end up being another vietnam, with america humiliated befoe the whole world. bush to put it nicely.....is a moron.

Bush is changing his stand on Iraq because the people that control Bush told him to.

Pressure's from his own party members, they are beginning to tell him what the democrats have been saying for months. Repuglicans are in trouble this year and one of the reasons is the war. Bush has run out of ways to try and link terrorism to the war in Iraq.

the darn enemy will not cooperate so he is "adjusting' his course staying to changing the course but keeping it steady .
it makes sense. a ship may be on course for a port and then change course because of a storm but still be heading to the same port but by a different route. so he is changing the route but not the destination. good for him he is finally getting smart.
We all want victory, assuming we can agree on what that is, so we should not quibble over words and get on with winning.
democrats and republicnas and their constituency need to stop bickering and cooperate to defeat a common enemy.

He is challenging the Democrats to come up with their own plan. Right now nothing has changed and I doubt the Democrats will come up with their own plan. I do believe that a pull out will happen just before or during 2008.
