I let it go. He started running around my house tearing up my furniture and knocked coffee all over the place. This is the price I get for trying to help a stray cat.

They need time to get used to being in the house. Try putting him or her in a small room for awhile so that the cat can explore and get used to the household(and you). Then keep it inside and let it slowly become a friend.

I feel for you. Maybe it's not stray, maybe it has a home. Pet it and hold it. Perphaps that'll help and not staying on the computer lol. I wouldn't give it to the shelter cause if they have too much cats, they put them to sleep. Here are some ideas, but the cat in your room with you so there's no front door, put it on a leash outside, let it out, don't let it out. Personally, I would keep it inside until I felt it was right to let it go. Try to nurture the cat because it probobly feels neglected and unloved.

i dont think its stray. a cat went into my apartment once when i didnt want it to, and it had a collar. when cats have owners they always want to go back outside to their owner.
if it was truly stray, then u should keep it inside for a long time until it gets used to it. then it will stop driving u crazy.

Let it go. It may have a home. If it comes back, feed it some more.

Let it out and put food by your door. If it wants to come back it will.
