Alberta is probably the best province for jobs - if you go far north in Alberta you are almost guaranteed a weel paid job. Free health care is the law everywhere in Canada - in every province. Some provinces are better thanothers. I dont know how America stands in that area. Because it has had strongly conservative government for as long as I can remember, it could be that they would have been a little weak in spending on health care - but sometimes conservatives can surprise you! Maybe they did very well in that area.

you have to keep in mind that jobs are available and high-paying compared to the rest of the country, but there are no houses or apartments available because so many people are moving there. Also, there are certain requirements to qualify for Canadian healthcare benefits, I believe you have to get permanent residency or citizenship before you can use it. Make sure you do some serious research and make sure you can afford the higher cost of living in these areas.

.... And it gets REALLY REALLY COLD in the winter. Seriously. We're talking some serious negative temperatures. Buy a Parka and a Down comforter.

www.canada.gc.ca is the official web address of the Canadian government.

Edmonton is now rising in price which is catching up to the job market. And edmonton is ccccccold in the winter than other parts. Research canada just don't assume. Remember 50% of our income goes to taxes, which pays for our social net. Which sucks.

Congratulations on making such a wise choice. Check out the Government of Canada website for information on immigrating here.

It is a great place. Just Google their laws and give it a shot. I just know there's alot of Americans that aren't going to lay down and roll over, or run from this.
