I am attending University of Phoenix online and, contrary to one of your other answers, I find it stimulating and challenging. You get out of it what you put into it. Most online universities that advertise online are legit, but they can vary widely in price, and U of P is expensive. You need to look at each school, however, to see if they offer the program you want. One reason I went with U of P is because they were the only program I could find that I could do ENTIRELY online - since we live an hour's drive to any campus - that also offered exactly what I wanted. Also, I asked the organization I hope to work for what universities they favored in their hiring and they told me U of P. If you know what you want to get a degree in, find out if potential work places prefer degrees from one U over another.

They are prolly "legit" but if you are talking about their degrees to be applicable to a workplace, you are prolly out of luck. Whichever web college you are looking at, get in contact with a student rep and ask them your questions. They can give you a better answer. But in general, unless you are taking internet classes through a State college, its prolly a bum idea.

not sure what PEDI is...

(i'm assuming you live in the US)

a legit online university could be "accredited"...meaning the US dept. of education and their agencies recognizes their degrees.

you can search for their accrediation on the internet...just go to google and enter the school's name in the search field...

I would steer clear of any online college that doesnt have a BRICK AND MORTOR building, such as a campus that you can go to, in order to check out the college and campus.
Many Colleges nowdays have online classes and you dont have to set foot inside a classroom.

However I would check with your states BOARD OF EDUCATION and write to them asking them of references for LEGITIMATE ONLINE Colleges. Those would be the only ones I would stick with.
Best of luck..

Does legit mean legal? Yes, sure why not.

Does legit mean you get a diploma? Yes, sure why not.
