I'm making popcorn balls, & my candy thermometer is MIA. The recipe says to cook to 240 F. What stage is that? (I know how to do the tests for sof-ball, etc.). I just need to know what stage 240 degrees is?

116 - 240F Fudge Stage or Soft Ball Stage.
Soft-Ball Stage 235° F–240° F/118° C–120° C
sugar concentration: 85%
