my 8 year old daughter asked me, why do they call it an adams apple. i had no idea. i said i mite be somthing to do with adam and eve? any help please

As my friend states above only men are supposed to have them.
I wonder if that is caused by the fact that men shout more and have deeper voices requiring longer vocal chords than the girls?
He is correct poor Adam choked on the Apple that Eve gave him to eat from the forbidden tree in the garden of eden.
This obviously occurred when on tasting the forbidden fruit he realised immediately that his partner had led him into sin!
God is said to have punished all 3 participants in this original sin!
The snake(satan) got to crawl on his belly for the rest of eternity.
Eve was bonded to her man and her desire was for him resulting
in the inevitable childbirth and her punishment is the pain of
childbirth. Adams punishment was to work for his living from then on and at the last to return to the dust of the earth from which he was formed(DEATH)!

Regarding the etymology of the term "Adam's apple", Webster's 1913 dictionary states that the term "… is so called from a notion that it was caused by the forbidden fruit, (an apple) sticking in the throat of our first parent."

I think the story goes that when Adam ate the fruit from the forbidden tree it stuck in his throat and men continued to have that to remind them that Adam sinned.
