Glad to hear your polite - I hope that kindness comes back to you.
Um about the kid that got shot, really, statistics have shown that your chances of an untimely death are much greater outside of a mission...it's sad when one dies, but it's actually much rarer than the kids of the same age that aren't on missions.

When on earth, Jesus Christ preached the Kingdom of God, going from village to village and from city to city. He also trained and sent out his disciples to do the same work. Before ascending to heaven, he commanded his followers to make disciples of people of all the nations. From its very inception, the early Christian congregation was organized for preaching the good news. Wherever the disciples went, they would be found preaching the Kingdom of God.-Matthew 4:17, 23; 10:1-16; 28:19, 20; Luke 4:43, 44; 8:1; 10:1-9; Acts 1:8; 4:31; 5:42; 8:12; 19:8; 28:23, 30, 31; Romans 10:9, 10, 14
Jehovah's Witnesses follow Jesus example. Why at home you say? Where else can you find most people? At home!

Most of the time the Mormon missionaries go to people's houses because they were given a "referral". They rarely do tracking anymore (door to door). Just tell them, along with the JW's you are happy with your religion and not interested. The JW's come to my house all the time. When I tell them I'm LDS, they leave right away. I respect them for trying to share their religion, but also get annoyed if I get a lot of visits.

I, for one, don't think that they are "totally annoying". I respect the fact that they have enough faith to commit to being a missionary.
As you clearly stated, there are hazards to working God's work. Where was his God? Right where He's always been and will always be. And God is the one who decides what "watching over" really means.
Many people believe that it's an important part of their faith to teach and spread the Gospel of the one true God.

Consider what it was like for the first Christians, Jews who were than following Christ, going door to door telling other Jews that their beliefs were no longer valid. Would you have also have questioned their dedication? They were also killed and persecuted. Saul, a very learned Jew, who thoroughly knew the Bible, fought against them and their teachings. Right up until he became the Apostle Paul. So, the question you need to be asking yourself, would you rather be like Saul, or Paul?

The Witnesses and Mormons are true evangelizers. Going from
door to door as commanded. Only people who already
like religion watch evangelizers on TV.
As far as them thinking their religion is the only TRUE religion.
What else is new?
Better to try and understand and fail, then to not try at all.

Not just them - all religions are very annoying and cultish. They scare the beejusis out of me. When I go to the Doctors office thay have this school next door and they are warping the poor kids minds and scaring me. They should be prohibited from trying to indoctrinate anyone.

Jws are not annoying. they are doing what jesus told them to do, to follow in his footsteps. how is the rest of the world supposed to learn the truth? as to the mormons, its because it is a false religion. but in cases of times where god doesnt protect everyone from certain things its because he is trying to prove to everyone that this system of things governed by satan is working. if no one died oe felt pain, then it would come off as that it worked. not like god does that though. things happen to us becuse we are in the wrong place at the wrong time. jws are tring to tell the world the truth and if you actually listen to them for a while, you will see that everything makes sense and comes from the bible. i thought it was annoying too but now i am sooo glad that they never stopped.

I've never actually had a problem with them knocking on my door. I tell them to go away and they do. My problem with Jehovah's witnesses starts and ends with a really annoying girl, who happens to be a JW, who knows nothing and has opinions on everything. I'm not blaming it on JWs, but i really hate her.

There is nothing wrong with missionary work. You do not save a lot of souls preaching to the choir. I think it is admirable that they take their faith so serious. As for the person that was shot, his God was right there to receive his soul into eternal life. As for the person that shot him... he hopefully will repent and be saved.
