From my personal experience:
I've led a very clean life since my early twenties, excercised regularly, followed a good diet with plenty of veggies and fruit, low sugar, low caffeine and maintained rigorous skin care. Now I'm 34 and still look no more than 25, so yes, it helps.
I also don't drink alcohol - I may have a glass of wine twice a year - that's it. And of course drink about a gallon of water a day.

There are 3 things that will definitely pay off:
1. don't smoke
2. stay away from the sun or use a very high protection factor
3. have a good cleansing and moisturising routine

Other things like a good diet, drinking plenty of water, exercising and getting enough sleep will help too. I'm in my late 30s and I look younger than many women my age. I don't have any blemishes or wrinkles. So get started on a good lifestyle now, it's worth it!

I've been doing the same since I was about 18 - I don't drink too much alcohol, drink lots of water, eat vegetables, exercise, sunscreen all the time, etc. When I was 24, I had a precancerous mole removed and my doctor complimented me on how well my skin healed - he said he could tell I drank a lot of water and ate well due to my quick healing. Now I'm almost 30, and I look younger than my 22 year old sister, who tans and is always partying. Friends and even our grandmother have said so. So, yes, it is going to be worth it! You'll be the grandmother no one believes could be a grandmother. :D
