No, the sin is in not being saved. Baptism should follow, but if you die saved before you are baptized, you will still go to heaven. Being baptized is following the example of Jesus when John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the River Jordan.

Do not prevent believers to be baptized. Yes, because getting baptized tells the world that the old man is gone and the new man in Christ is alive forever more.
Getting baptized doesn't save you. Believing in Jesus Christ your Lord & resurrection does. But to be baptized is being obedient to God to be a witness.
Any act of disobedience is a sin.
Also Jesus baptizes with fire/Holy Spirit. And so Christians should be baptized in the Holy Spirit also. Every born again Christian has the Holy Spirit with them and will be in them. This is the saving anointing and Spirit of Comfort & Truth.

Baptism is a commandment. (Acts 10:48)
Jesus said, "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved." (Mark 16:16)
Peter commanded repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. (Acts 2:38)
Jesus told Saul in the city he would be told what he "must do" (Acts 9:6). In the city, he was told to "arise and be baptized and wash away you sins calling on the name of the Lord" (Acts 9:18, 22:16)
Some say that you are saved before or without baptism. Some say to say a "sinners prayer". Saul had been praying and fasting for 3 days (Acts 9:9-11), but he still had not had his sin washed away.
What is "calling on the name of the Lord"? It is necessary for salvation (Acts 2:21) Obviously, as we have seen with Saul, it is more than praying and fasting. It is more than saying "Lord, Lord". (Matt 7:21)
To call on the name of the Lord is to rely on His authority. To do this we must follow his instructions. He said, "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved."
Saul had not called on the name of the Lord until he had been baptized. This was so important that even though he had not eaten or drank for three days, the Bible says he was baptized immediately THEN he took food (Acts 9:18-19)!
To be saved and to call on the name of the Lord, you should do what the Lord said. You must be baptized!

Not getting baptized is not a sin in and of itself. A persons attitude toward baptism could be sinful. Only God knows for sure what is in someones heart who does not get baptized and only God can judge it to be sinful or not.

Sin is in the heart. As life begins in the womb a still born child may be a child of God and of course have never been Baptized. There may also be circumstances for adult converts that prevent them for reasons beyond their control. But for those who just refuse the command of Christ willingly yes it would be a sin. All Christians should be Baptized.

Dear John,
Not getting baptized in water is not a sin. Please look at the Scripture in Luke where the Lord is speaking to one of thieves that is being crucified with Him. The Lord told him, "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." That thief had no time to get off the cross and get baptized in water or tell his sins to a priest or do some good works.... He was being crucified! Yet the Lord Jesus saved him right there on the cross.
Water baptism has been mistakenly associated with salvation. Sprinkling with water, or immersion in water cannot wash away one (1) sin. Baptsim is symbolic, in that we need to be washed from our sins in the "water of the word." The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the means by which God works if He has chosen that individual to be saved. "So then, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God." Faith is a synonym for Jesus Christ.

If one is convinced that they should be baptized and are ABLE to do so then they should be.(to them it would be sin if they did not) however to be baptized just because it's the "IN" thing to do could also be considered a sin. God alone looks on the hearts of people. Be convinced in your own mind for yourself.

with out it you can not have your sins washed away
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
you must believe and obey the word of God
with out obeying you are in rebellion
every time in Acts that the apostles found those that just believed they command them to be baptized even those who where already baptized by John the Baptist Paul commanded they baptized in Jesus name and laid hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost
Acts 2:38 is the plan All the apostles followed

Yes. To refuse baptism is to refuse repentence and without repentence one cannot be saved. Look up many of the verses concerning baptism and you will see many words used along with it like Holy Spirit, repentence, forgiveness, washing....
Jesus said if we loved him we would follow his commands and part of that is not only getting baptized but baptizing new believers (Matthew 28:19)
