Man is the one that DEMANDS perfection, because he himself
cannot be perfect.
God judges the HEART!
It's the EXCUSES, the DOUBTING, the RIDICULE, the
HOLIER THAN THOU, the HATING, and the ARROGANCE
He doesn't like!

I would tend to agree, to some extent. We cannot achieve perfection (but that's no excuse for not attempting to better ourselves anyhow). I think some people are too hung up on their own ideas of perfection, rather than God's, and get hung up in technicalities and legalism instead of practicing true faith.

When Jesus said, "Be ye therefore perfect," that was in the context that we should love people like God does. As he said in John 3:17, "God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

So, let's stop doing it! One day I complained to my husband that a friend likes to gossip, and then realized that by complaining about it I was gossiping, too!

(Hey, look at this reference for "holier than thou" in Isaiah 65:5)!

Hate the sin, love the sinner. It's not just a command for us to follow because God wants us to. It's because He follows it himself! Only He knows the deepest darkest parts of our heart--He knows more about us than even us!

Yes, thank God for that, because if being perfect was a requirement to make it to heaven, none of us ever would.

wow wish more christians could realize that. --- especially the arrogance part, (which is next to the same as the "holier then thou"). they need to focus on their own lives and relationship with god then that of other people.
