Know that you are smart, attractive, nice, fun to be around or whatever your good qualities are.
KNOW it. Tell yourself.
That's what I do, I am 42 years old, the number sounds awful, I am always told I look 30, still, I start feeling depressed, thinking I am old and haggard, I tell myself that I am beautiful and smart, etc, etc. It seems to help. We can be our own worst critic too. People see us differently than we see ourselves also, I may think I am average, others may think I am pretty...

look in the mirror everyday and repeat all the good qualities that you have, i know it sounds kinda narcissistic, but you'll be more confident which could help you in talking to someone in the opposite sex.
