If you can't buy a chicken for under $5.29 (2.80 GBP), then you need to move to the United States, where a whole cooked chicken is usually less than $4.00 (2.11 GBP)

And where the people are usually politer and know how to use an online currency converter.

Edit:

After reading your edit, I rest my case. Maybe we Americans don't like being called "fools" or ordered not to answer a question.

We're sort of stubborn that way. . .just ask King George III.

When I was at uni I used to wait till the asda was about to close and the go in a get whole cooked chickens for about 50p. They were the ones they were about to throw away... those were the days! So anyway, if it hasn't already, wait till its about to shut, you can pick up some quality bargains if you've got the munchies!

£2.80 should be enough for an uncooked medium bird, or a cooked small one. Usually they do two uncooked chickens for a fiver. Get saving!

go for 4 tins of chicken soup instead - Lidl do a BRILLIANT chunky chicken soup, even though the packaging may look unattractive.
