Ugh! "Pray" is too broad a word for me to give a yes or no answer, and "witches" is too narrow a word for me to say that I can speak reliably.
As I understand it, Christians use prayer to either 1) give praise/thanks to God or 2) ask for favors.
Many pagans I know will keep an altar in their house, and might start off their day by lighting a candle or some incense and saying a few words of praise or thanks to God and Goddess (in whichever aspects the individual chooses to revere them). In that sense of the word "pray", then, I would say that yes, pagans do this.
The asking for favors aspect, not so much. That tends to fall under magick, and magick is less an act of begging and more an attempt to set things in motion. "As I will, so mote it be" is a common closing phrase, and it's an assertion that the desired effect WILL happen, because I have stated clearly what I want and I have put personal energy into bringing it about. I will also get whupped upside the head with any consequences for fulfilling my wish - a phenomenon poorly labeled "karma".
I'm sure you were looking for a shorter answer, but that was just such a horribly phrased question that I had to make sure all my bases were covered.

Yes, absolutely, and to a variety of Gods for a variety of reasons. I'm a Witch and a surfer; I always pray to La Sirene (mermaid Goddess, Vodoun) and Poseidon (sea God, Greek) before I go into the ocean. Sometimes if I'm overwhelmed by natural beauty, I just look up and whisper "Thank you so much," or if the moon is particularly lovely, tell Diana (Greek moon Goddess) so. Sometimes I get to talking to a God that handles a problem I'm having. There's no Satan or darkness to it.

Witches are only something someone invented for Hollywood or the entertainment industry. So, no, witches can't pray because they don't exist to begin with.

Most of the witches I've known are religious, so yes, they pray. However, there are some who practice witchcraft who are not religious.
I am very religious so I pray throughout the day to my deities.

We do not call it praying in the more common sense of the word,ie; kneeling down, hands folded, etc. We have rituals and we use invocations to ask for help or guidance form certain goddesses or gods

Yes they pray. Many covens in days old would chant and pray for a full harvest. Others pray for serenity, peace, you name it.

LOL no. the object became taken down... became it a humorous tale? LOL. What on earth might we pray over candy for? candy fairly has no longer something to do with my religious holiday. Halloween is an earthly American relaxing fest.
