The wanting to believe in the UNITY of LIFE is hard wired into us.
We need to know that we belong and are not seperate as our bi-cameral brain tells us we are. Our minds, being the product of our electrical field can only rationalize Positive, and Negative or swicth on and switch off. That always leaves us in either the negative or the positve, the them and us, the up or down, the hot or cold, and we emotionally need LIFE and SOCIETIES to be UNIFIED. We don't see that in the 3d of our conscious reality. So we search for a UNITY or a concept of ONE to satisfy our emotional yearning for "belonging" in 4d such as heaven, or spirits or Holy GHOSTS, etc....

The traditional shaman, witch doctor, story teller, priests, guru, the entertainer, the philosopher, etc. see in that need, a place to sell their abstractions and myths and stories and be supported financially and in a position of power. Religion is the epitomy of the "expertism" of complex societies where the doctor takes care of the body, the military and police offer muscles and protection and the entertainer, etc... and/or the priests offer the fantasies and myths of UNITY. Although it does not satisfy because of the concept of sin and hell. So religion uses a temptation and a punishment and does not offer UNITY at all. Religion is the disease of which it should be the cure. It is always them or us. We the "good", them "the bad".

Hower it is only by not belonging to any group that one can truly realize the ONE-ness of LIFE. Those who are not "dogmatic" and can cross the barriers between people, groups and civilizations, and lay themselves across the chasm as bridges, can truly realize the ONE-ness of LIFE and that can be called "god". God is not a good term for that experience as it is one vowell trapped by two consonants. An open sound would not allow so much abuse in the name of the ONE. I use the numeric and neutral ONE so as to remain unbound by gender (male, female) and not bound by the personal hence "tribal" or "religion" concepts of the ONE Creator or creative impulse. If there is a ONE, it is not Material, nor energy but is a more rarified form of energy than any energy we understand or register with our complex apparatus. To say that we are "intoxicated" by God is not good enough. A drug does that. To say that we are it is our life is not good enough, we give our life for all kinds of trivial things, such as borders and material wealth.

The Divine qualities would have to transcend the individual and serve the neighbour and others in our immediate and global environment...

I can only speak for myself...

I was raised in the Church and was taught from a very young age. However, I also walked away from the Church as a young teenager. I rebelled for 20+ years. It wasn't that I didn't believe anymore...I just didn't walk the path with my Lord Jesus.

I few years ago, I was invited to Church. The message that day, spoke into my life. So, I went back again and again.

I soon realized what I was missing in my life...Jesus Christ.

In those 20 years, I know for a fact I had a guardian angel. I did some really, really stupid things and probably would have (w/out my angel) gone through some really bad stuff.

It's more than the facts in history, it's more than God's Word...I have felt His presence, I have seen with my own eyes; answered prayers. I have witnessed His miracles. I have no doubts!

I know the living God exists. I believe the Holy Bible. It's more than faith for me. I can't imagine my life without Him.

Why would'nt u?????? How do u think u got here. I know I believe in a creator b/c he has not forsaken me when all have. See b/c we live in a world where the thought of a higher power over the government, is unbelievealbe. It would be hard for u to believe. Who created the stars, a rock, many birds. I could go on and on. He is not a God but "THE CREATOR" and his existence should not be questioned. Faith is the substance of things we hope for, evidence of things we can not see! Just b/c u cant see him doesnt mean he's not there, Think about it!

I believe in God because of my experiences with Him

Belief means not questioning. Anyone who just believes is lying to himself, Truth believed is a lie! One has to experience truth, and truth is being your pure self. Why people believe in God is because they are conditioned to believe from childhood, their fathers, forefathers did it so you do it! Why we choose to believe is because we always wanted answers of the unknown, some people dont want hardwork, they prefer to follow everyone, they are basically followers, and hence they are a herd of sheep. Some choose to find truth on their own, and they add meaning to life. Jesus never started christianity, Buddha did not start Buddhism, it was the followers who gave the label. The unintelligent ones want all kinds of labels, You can find God on your own, you can give any meaning you want to God, and i believe you can!

Odd way to phrase a question.

If you mean "god" (and NOT "God"), then my answer would be that they have been distracted from the word of the one true God.

If you mean "God" (and not "god"), then my answer would be that I have found faith in the one true God, and in the salvation offered by way of His Son, Jesus.

If you are asking why people IN GENERAL believe in the concept of a god or God, that's a completely different question.

So, at this point, I think I'd have to ask you to clarify your question since it's far, far too vague to be reasonably addressed.

People are not able to comprehend the possibilty that life is just that, and when we die there may be nothing. Beleif in God provides us with the idea that life acually has a purpose, and rewards. Use of God is a form of control, telling people how to best live their lives so as to not f u c k up others lives. It provides rewards for good living.

First to believe in GOD, u need to believe in u, belief is killing ur ego and placing at god, what happens is for good, thinking something happened bad itself causes doubts ,so always to be happier leave everything to god.

I believe in God because I know for sure He exsists. Even entire races of people (ie The American Indians) believed in God, although that is not what they called Him. Maybe it was Great Spirit, Manatou, or some other name but they meant the same as our God.
