but it didn't come with any directions for use. It's 30%, how long should I leave it on? And will it cause scabs? My facial skin isn't particularly sensitive, and I have combination skin, mostly oily.

It shouldn't cause scabbing.
Try it on a small portion of your cheek first to see if you have a reaction.
I would leave it on 5 minutes at first, and then if you don't have a reaction, 10 minutes should be fine.

Glycolic acid should be left on no longer than 10 minutes. And first you should use an enzyme called papain on your skin for 5 minutes. Papain is found in papayas, so you can mix up one papaya in the blender then apply it to your skin. Its used to gently exfoliate your skin before the peel. The glycolic acid may cause some peeling afterwards, so do not pick at it, doing that can cause scarring. After you rinse off the acid with cool water, you need to apply a light moisturizer, one that is frangrance free and for sensitive skin, since you just took off a layer of skin. Do this every 2-3 weeks.
But take note when you apply the glycolic acid and it starts to burn rather than tingle, rinse it off immediately.

Ideally though you should really go to a dermatologist for a facial peel.

Usually if it's 30% glycolic acid, you can use it as a night cream for the whole night. To make sure that your skin will be ok, you can use it for probably 15 minutes first. If your skin is feeling burnt, you can just wash your face. If not, continue for 1 hour or even longer.
