Racism and illegal immigration are 2 different subjects. Months back when this issue hit the streets and yanswers it was strictly about the legalities of the matter. I have watched as months have passed and honestly from my perspective, the people who support the illegal immigration movement are the very people who have turned this into an issue of racism and whom continue to divert the people of this country from the simple facts of illegal immigration. America is made up of many races, always has been and always will be. The fact is that to be an American you must be a legal citizen of these United States, regardless of your race. America is a strucutre, a belief system and a system of laws and support that works when it is treated with respect, and it works for all Citizens. You taint the structure of our great country when you group together racism and illegal immigration. Again they are 2 very different subjects and should be treated as such. The law is the law in our great country regardless of your race. Granted many more dark skinned people are entering our country illegally, however there are many white people entering our country illegally as well, the same law applies regardless. Illegal immigration is just what it is. Racism is something completely different. The person who said Native Americans are the only true Americans is a bitter and uneducated person in my opinion, and she's wrong. Native Americans are indigenous sure, but they are not the only true Americans. True Americans are any person who has legal citizenship in this country, period.

Well, really read that history, and you find that there was a war between the US and Mexico. Mexico lost the war, and lost land, too. There's still some people there apparently that haven't quite given up on trying to get it back...thus the pressure to send millions of their citizens to america. The basic problem is, we have an economy, and Mexico has...Mexico.(They have SOME money, they're just not telling anybody. Wink, wink) Mexico's got a lot of problems, crime, poverty, so forth and so on, and these problems exist everywhere in the world. What they'd really really like is for america to open its' doors and let millions and millions more move in at will, one big happy family, if you will...I guess you kind of have to ask yourself, say you lived in Cuba, and all of a sudden, ten thousand people a year started moving there. How long would it be until the pressure from all the new people moving in started causing problems?
Here's another immigration angle for you: Assimilation. Read about France...
Immigration, legal or otherwise, is a big issue, a global issue, even. When there's a perception of favoritism, special exception
being made to an entire group of people, the law being ignored, then people are going to get upset. If you were that Cuban, and all of a sudden had, say, a million people from someplace else banging on your door and basically claiming it was their RIGHT to move to Cuba, and who are you to protest, how would you feel about that? I think you'd be voting for border security...which is what americans are supporting these days, nothing more, no racism, but rather calling for an end to a trend that threatens to upset life nationwide. Other people from other countries are trying to turn america into what THEY want, and they frankly don't care who they bankrupt, who they offend, etc. This, instead of fixing their own countries to where they have the prosperity etc that's needed to support themselves.
I think any approach to this issue needs to be effective, and well-reasoned. Somehow, it became america's lawful obligation to support 1/2 the 3rd world...at least in the minds of the would-be supportees. We can have our independence, and a lawful process of immigration.
At the end of the day, it's all about money...do we sell the country to the highest bidder, or adhere to higher principles than that? IS america for sale? I'd like to think it isn't...the people throwing the race card are doing it because they're out of other arguments...

I think what you are seeing is the poorly expressed sentiments of those who are frustrated by immigrants who choose not to adopt American language, culture and our values.
Many illegal immigrants, mostly from Mexico and Latin America, make no effort to learn our language, and make no effort to integrated into American society. They are not here to become Americans and build a new life, but merely to work and send money home to family.
I'm sure Mexicans would have the exact same problem if a bunch of Gringos were immigrating to their country, not speaking any Spanish, not integrating, using their social services while not paying taxes, and only there to work and send money home.

The only true Americans are the Native Americans,to those of you " who would be speaking Japanese or German racists" if not for the many Native American languages of North America code talkers. The white race is just transplanted Europeans. Now the Mexican Immigrants have more of a right to be here since they are native to North America too. Europeans were the first illegal immigrants but they can not accept that or refuse to since they are after all the "master race", but only in their own eyes : ) have a nice day. Notice who is giving the negative ratings? Master race? Am I getting to you yet?

Mexicans are predominantly the same race as the US population, with some native american mixed into it.
So, I don't see it as racist, at least.
As for whites being the "best". Well, Mexicans are still whites, usually, though they are diverse. I'd also remind you that there is more than one "white" race. The two main white races in Europe are Finno-Ugrian (Finland, Estonia, Hungary) and Indo-European (everyone else).
There used to be european races, but they were all crossbred with asian migrants. There are a few isolated exceptions, such as the celts, but, in general one can't really say that we are an "european" race.

I welcome the legal immigrant, and I am thankful he/she took the time to become a legal American.I do not disrespect anyone because of their race ,that's ignorant.I treat people the way I was taught by my parents, with manners and respect.I have many friends and neighbors that are from other nations and have made America their home. They love this nation and are happy to be here.
I do not like what the illegal alien does in coming to this country illegally, desecrating our flag and yelling their hate of this nation, while demanding rights they have no right too.I do not hate them ,I hate the act.I can not hate all people for the actions of some.To the legal immigrant I say welcome to America. To the illegal I say go home to your own country.

My first wife was Cuban. When I divorced her, other Cubans who knew her said, "Please don't judge all Cubans by her. We didn't like her, either."
I have two offspring by her. IT has been interesting seeing the Cuban/Florida influence on them, even though they have long ago left Florida.
To answer your question, this always happens when a country becomes a super power. Our attitude towards the illegals who do our s**t work is the same attitude the Roman Citizens had toward their slaves who did that same work for them.
But, if you study sociology, investigate 'ethnocentrism'. It is well known that the most ethnocentric people are from the lower levels of education and self-esteem and socioeconomic levels. They need to feel superior to someone, and instead of working and improving themselves, they choose to put down other people, often more ambitious and intelligent than themselves.
Legal immigrants are almost always the better members of their home countries, whether rural peasants or highly educated and urbane.
My late mother was very racist, and referred to both my first and second wives (the second is Mexican) by racial epithets. She was essentially nothing, and I suppose this made her feel superior.

Hispanic is not a race, its a culture. They are as white European as any white American, hell, they came from Spain (Europe) too. Quit whining. We just don't want the illegals. Any legal American is fine with me. People are are stupid are not.

Well, according to statistics and extremely accurate estimates, caucasians (white people) will be the minority and foreigners will be the majority in America in about fifty years. This is a fact. It doesn't matter whether you believe this or not because it is going to happen. When it does, I think that white people will become the victims of racism by foreigners as revenge for what white people do now.

I hate illegals of any race or nationality--it's not just Mexicans, but that is the bulk of our country's illegal immigration problem. Anyone who comes legally, learns the language and tries to assimilate--welcome and good luck!
