Is eating gravel bad for you? I ate some, and I didn't know if it was gonna make me sick?

Honestly, I ate about 7 pounds of gravel. But I did it because I was trying to be tough.

It might make you unwell as first of all it might have bacteria in it that would upset your stomach and give you food poisoning, secondly the gravel is quite sharp and could actually damage your stomach/ intestines etc as it passes through you. This is probably ok as a one off but dont make a habit out of it as it could lead to fatality. 'Pica' is the phenomenom of people eating non food items and is common in autism, one lady died recently from eating coins, soil and similar items but she did it all the time.

I definitely wouldn't suggest doing it... as far as I know, it shouldn't really be detrimental to your diet, or make you sick. Your stomach may be upset for awhile (might vomit a little), but nothing long term as far as I know. Your digestive system isn't going to have much of an affect on the gravel. So, in all likelyhood, you'll pass it without an issue. Passing it should be interesting, depending on the sizes, but you'll find that out in a day or two. Have fun with that one. :-D

I don't know if you'll get sick, but you might experience a lot of pain. I'd check with my local hospital to see if it needs to be pumped out. Because when you pass those stones, you're going to be one unhappy dude. I'm concerned it might rip up your intestines. 7 pounds????? What were you thinking?
