I've read the explanation on wikipedia but I'm skeptical about its definition. In the definition for euphanisms, it lists it and says it's short for "that sucks c**k" and it originated in America.

I think Wiki is probably right. Remember the famous line in The Exorcist, "Your mother s*cks c*cks in hell!!!" My friends and I in high school came up with all kinds of variations on that.

The origin is from hog farmers. The runt of the litter is smaller than the others because it is
'sucking hind tit' (which has less milk). The weakest baby pig gets pushed to the back tit and never gets enough to eat. This morphed into whenever life isn't fair you're sucking hind tit (One hog farmer asks another how he's doing. The other farmer says "I'm sucking hind tit this year"). This than morphed into 'that sucks'.
