My son is to do a one page report on a religion. Rather that do our own, I want him to learn about new ones and choose something new to write about. Don't go over his head. He is only 12. What does your religion believe that makes it different from the others.

Baptist. grew up in church and Christian school. We believe in salvation by faith in Jesus Christ. we believe in the trinity, Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit, are one. KJB is God's Word. no works are needed, only the works that Jesus did on the cross. No idols to worship, or ritual to complete. What i liked most and makes my faith stronger is that everything i learn is shown to me in the Bible, and not opinion.

I am an atheist. That means that I do not have a religion and that I do not believe in any of the gods that Jews, Christians, Muslims, Pagans, Hindus, or other religions believe. I believe that there is no god at all.

To me, the world is a place of science and mathematics. Everything that happens, no matter how strange it may appear at first, has a logical reason. It's like a stage magician -- I may not know how he did a trick, but I know there's an explanation. Science can't always explain something, but that just means we humans don't know enough to understand it yet. It's okay to not know. Science wouldn't be science if we had no questions to ask, no explanations to discover.

I believe that being a good person is about two things -- empathy and altruism. Empathy is the ability to put yourself in another person's shoes, to feel what you think they're feeling or how they'd feel in a certain situation. Altruism is the urge to help people. I think it would be the best of all possible worlds if all people lived with those two words as the whole of their morals.

I also think it's important that people should believe in what they believe with all their heart -- but to respect other people's rights to do so as well. It's okay to discuss and debate, it is not okay to argue and hate.

Good luck to ya', kiddo. Hope this helps you.

I must answer this one, as no one has mentioned being a Jew. I am. I am a Jew because I could not accept Christianity, which is the religion I was raised in. G-d is One. I have a love for the Jewish people and their history with G-d. I have even gone one step farther. There are three major branches of Jews-the Ashkenazim (European), Separdim (Spanish and the Mediterranean area) and Mizrahim (of the Mid-east). I have found that a synagogue of the Sephardi and Mizrahim is where I am most comfortable. We are a smaller group, in America, but this is where I belong.

I am agnostic. My parents are Muslim. I thought about the teaching and believes of Islam. They could not be proved. They were just saying of different people. They claimed that Quran is the book of God. I asked several people but they could not prove that. Then I though about Christianity. The same. All were stories. And above all, the people belonging to one religion hate those have the other. So I was confused. At last I decided that I cannot either accept or deny the things about religions. So I decided to wait and see if science can prove anything about that. For now , I don't know and I don't care.

Atheism
It is not a religion but rather the rejection of religion and its inherent hypocrisy. 12 is not to young to learn about the hypocrisy of Judeo-Christian Mythology. That is right I said mythology. There is no historical evidence (the bible is NOT a historical document) to support ANYTHING that is written in the Old or New testament. Please allow your child the opportunity to think for himself as opposed to being taught what to think by organized religion. Being an atheist does not throw out the possibility of a God but rather rejects ALL modern organized religions as mythology. Just like Christians call all other world religions past and present mythology.

Mine is Islam. God (Allah in our Holy Book) is the Creator of everything, from galaxies down to the smallest living thing. I respect Moses and Jesus. Mohammed is in the centre of my heart. Our religion is similar to the 10 commandements. No killing, stealing, lying, adultary, cheating....ect. If our women cover their body and hair, it is no offence to other religions, I don't see why others find it an item to joke about.
I am proud to be a Muslim. I respect all other religions, I have no right to say they are wrong even if I think that way. I hate to hurt others.

There are really only 2 religions.

1. Christianity, they believe that Jesus is God, that believing in him is the only way to get salvation, and that he died for your sins.

2. All others, they believe that Jesus is not God and that you can receive salvation by your good works, or being good, or praying so many times a day or anything like that.

I am a Pagan, specifically a Druid. I enjoy Pagan belief because it allow for a lot of individuality. It is short of Dogma and allows for personal belief to trump the belief of others. There is no concept of Satan, Hell, or Sin and it focuses on a love of nature and an understanding of both male and female deity. There are many Pagan faiths and I chose Druidry due to my Irish ancestry and my love for Irish mythology. I love all religions and faiths and respect everyone that is religious and not hypocritical. If they are a true believer then more power to them.

Good luck on your paper!
