Conception occurs when an egg and sperm meet in a Fallopian tube. Sometime during the middle of your menstrual cycle (most likely between the 12th and 16th days), an egg reaches maturity in one of the two ovaries. The ovary releases the egg into the abdomen, where it's quickly sucked up by the tulip-shaped opening of the nearest Fallopian tube.
An egg can survive in your Fallopian tube for about 24 hours after it's released from the ovary. So the only way you can get pregnant is if sperm are present in your Fallopian tube during this window of opportunity. If the egg isn't fertilized, it's shed along with your uterine lining during your period.
Typically, when you have your period, another egg is developing in preparation for release during the current cycle. But not every woman's cycle length is the same. Many women have a cycle that's about 28 days long, but some have only a 22-day cycle. If you have a shorter cycle, you could ovulate just a few days after you have your period. And considering that sperm can survive in your reproductive tract for up to three days, it's theoretically possible for the sperm to hang around until you ovulate again.

Drinking too much or believeing that he'll respect you in the morning! Kidding. The sperm has to pass through the cervix first, then if there is a fertile egg present, one of the little swimmers must be able to work his way into the egg. Most sperm die trying to get to the egg and the rest usually are not able to fertilize it. Depending on timing, the egg can be fertilized while still inside the fallopian tube or once it reaches the uterine walls.

I think you should know this, but anyways, Once the vagina is penetrated, and sperm is released, they are like baby sea turtles trying to get to the sea. Except your eggs are the sea. Once an egg is fertilized, an embryo is formed and over the next nine months a mothers body will nourish it until it develops into a fetus. You push or cut it out and you have a bundle of joy, or terror, you pick.

This is a difficult question. Really, if sperm even runs across the opening of the vagina you can get pregnant. Sperm are very strong. They live for over 24 hours and swim like there is no tomorrow. If just one is strong enough to make it you are in for a big shock. Hello Baby!

OK, first I wonder about your age if you are asking this question but it differs depending on your cycle and what day it is. The sperm only has to reach the egg and insert itself into it to cause pregnancy. The egg is at a different location every day throughout your menstrual cycle and depending on the day you have intercourse it may only have not have to travel far past your cervix to reach the egg. Hope that helps.

You need some professional sex counseling asap!!! See your doctor or a sex education teacher at school. In addition to the reputation you probably already have with the boys in town, you may soon find yourself deciding between abortion or adoption. Work on your self esteem, not trying to get a boy to like you. Sex is not going to get you a boyfriend who respects you! None of the boys will take you home to meet their mom. And nice girlfriends will be hard to find too. Clean up your act before it is too late.

A "GIRL" shouldn't be getting pregnant. She should be doing her homework and going to school and hanging out at the mall with friends.

sex intercourse.. causes a girl to get pregnant...
coz when you connect with each other the sperm from the male swims up into the girls vagina...and then makes its journey from there..
